Blackout Solutions is Kyle Folk and Jason Ah Chin — two friends who reunited after university and built a contractor around the work that often falls between larger trades.
Kyle grew up around oil & gas, research, and development — the kind of environment where solving a weird mechanical problem on a Saturday night is just part of the week. He's the one who picks up the phone, figures out the logistics, makes sure it gets done, and tells you clearly what's happening.
Jason is an engineer who brings the discipline. He's the one who streamlines processes, crunches the numbers, and handles the admin work that most small operators forget until it bites them. He puts in the long hours when a deadline demands it.
We started Blackout because we'd talked about it for years. We wanted something to call our own — a side hustle now, with a plan to eventually work for ourselves full-time. We built Blackout around the little things that make a big difference: clear communication, respect for your property, and showing up ready to work.
The motto at Kyle's high school was "As one who serves."
That line stuck and is still how we approach every job.
Tell us what you're building, clearing, moving, or coordinating. We'll get back to you with a quote and clear next steps.
